Little about me: I am a professor in the Department of Statistics and Probability, Michigan State University, East Lansing. Before coming to the Michigan State University, I held faculty positions in the Department of Statistics, Iowa State University and in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University Nebraska-Lincoln.

My Bachelor and Master degrees are in Statistics. I was a research fellow of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in India and working under the guidance of Professor Arijit Chaudhuri of Indian Statistical Institute , Kolkata. However, I got my degree from the University of Kalyani.

 

My Research: I am mainly interested in application driven methodology development. My research interests are small area estimation, sampling, Bayes and empirical Bayes methods, Multilevel modeling, Biostatistics, Missing value analysis and Social and Environmental Statistics.
