Statistics and Probability Colloquium

Math Seminars This Week

I obtained my Ph.D from the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering, Cornell University in January 2008 under the supervision of Prof. Gennady Samorodnitsky on Stable Random Fields. I was a postdoctoral fellow of Prof. Paul Embrechts at the RiskLab, Department of Mathematics, ETH Zurich during September 2007 - August 2008 and then joined the Department of Statistics and Probability, Michigan State University as an assistant professor in September 2008.

Research Interests:
• Probability Theory: Random fields, extreme values, heavy tails, long range dependence.
• Statistics: Statistical inference for heavy-tailed distributions and processes.
• Ergodic Theory: Nonsingular group actions and their properties.
